Nearly a Century of American Linen Craftsmanship.

Some brands become successful because they follow trends. Others endure because they set a standard that never goes out of style.

For nearly a century, Matouk has quietly established itself as one of the world's great linen houses. From its home in Fall River, Massachusetts, generations of artisans have transformed the finest long-staple cottons and luxurious fibres into bed and bath linens found in some of the world's most beautiful homes, hotels and private residences.

At Perrault, we are proud to bring this remarkable American heritage to Australia.

A Family Story Nearly 100 Years in the Making

Matouk's story begins in 1929, when founder John Matouk arrived in the United States after growing up between Damascus, Italy and China. Having developed an appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship from an early age, he began importing the finest European linens to the American market.

Alongside his wife, Maude—herself an accomplished textile merchant—the business quickly earned a reputation for uncompromising quality and impeccable service.

When the Second World War disrupted European imports, rather than compromise, John established his own manufacturing operation in New York. That decision transformed Matouk from a respected importer into one of America's great textile manufacturers.

Three generations later, the business remains family-led, with its factory still located in Massachusetts, where many of the finishing touches are completed by hand.

It is this rare combination of heritage, innovation and genuine craftsmanship that has allowed Matouk to remain relevant for almost a century.

Lowell: The Bedding That Defines Quiet Luxury

Among Matouk's many celebrated collections, none is more iconic than Lowell.

Woven from sumptuous Egyptian cotton in Italy, Lowell has become something of a benchmark for luxury bedding. Its beautifully smooth sateen weave offers an elegant drape, subtle lustre and exceptional softness that only improves with time.

Rather than relying on ornate detailing, Lowell embodies understated sophistication. A simple satin stitch border frames each piece with quiet confidence, allowing the extraordinary quality of the fabric to speak for itself.

For many discerning households around the world, Lowell is the bedding against which all others are judged.

Milagro: The Towel That Changed Expectations

If Lowell is Matouk's most recognisable bedding collection, Milagro is undoubtedly its most celebrated towel.

Its name translates to miracle—an apt description for a towel that manages to feel remarkably plush while remaining surprisingly lightweight.

Crafted in Portugal from premium long-staple, zero-twist cotton, Milagro achieves an unusual balance of softness, absorbency and quick drying performance. The absence of twist in the cotton fibres allows the towel to feel exceptionally lofty without unnecessary weight, creating a bathing experience that is both indulgent and practical.

It has become Matouk's best-selling towel collection worldwide for good reason.

At Perrault, Milagro remains one of our most recommended collections for those seeking a true luxury towel that performs as beautifully as it feels.

Linens Designed to Last

Luxury is often mistaken for excess.

Matouk has always understood that true luxury is something quieter: exceptional materials, uncompromising craftsmanship and products that continue to bring pleasure years after they are purchased.

Nearly one hundred years after John Matouk founded the company, that philosophy remains unchanged.

Every sheet, duvet cover and towel carries forward a tradition built on integrity, precision and an unwavering commitment to quality.

It is precisely why Matouk continues to be trusted by generations of families around the world—and why it remains one of the defining names in luxury bed and bath linens.

At Perrault, we are honoured to share that legacy with Australian homes.
